ELISA Kit Principle | The test principle applied in this kit is Sandwich enzyme immunoassay. The microtiter plate provided in this kit has been pre-coated with an antibody specific to GABA-A Receptor Associated Protein Like Protein 2 (GABARAPL2). Standards or samples are then added to the appropriate microtiter plate wells with a biotin-conjugated antibody specific to GABA-A Receptor Associated Protein Like Protein 2 (GABARAPL2). Next, Avidin conjugated to Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to each microplate well and incubated. After TMB substrate solution is added, only those wells that contain GABA-A Receptor Associated Protein Like Protein 2 (GABARAPL2), biotin-conjugated antibody and enzyme-conjugated Avidin will exhibit a change in color. The enzyme-substrate reaction is terminated by the addition of sulphuric acid solution and the color change is measured spectrophotometrically at a wavelength of 450nm +/- 10nm. The concentration of GABA-A Receptor Associated Protein Like Protein 2 (GABARAPL2) in the samples is then determined by comparing the O.D. of the samples to the standard curve. | ||||||||||||||||||||||

Description of Target | Ubiquitin-like modifier involved in intra-Golgi traffic. Modulates intra-Golgi transport through coupling between NSF activity and SNAREs activation. It first stimulates the ATPase activity of NSF which in turn stimulates the association with GOSR1 (By similarity). Involved in autophagy. Plays a role in mitophagy which contributes to regulate mitochondrial quantity and quality by eliminating the mitochondria to a basal level to fulfill cellular energy requirements and preventing excess ROS production. Whereas LC3s are involved in elongation of the phagophore membrane, the GABARAP/GATE-16 subfamily is essential for a later stage in autophagosome maturation. |
