Specificity |
Reacts with high efficiency with different regions of GVTSAPDTRPAPGSTAPPAHGVTSA synthetic
peptide spanning the repeat of VNTR extracellular portion of MUC1 molecule. Reacts with VNTR5 and
VNTR20 recombinant unglycosylated fragments of MUC1 protein and underglycosylated MUC1 prepared
from tumor fluids (T47D cell) or as a result of chemical treatment (NaJO4) of human milk MUC1. It does
not react with natural MUC1 protein isolated from human milk by affinity purification on carbohydrate
epitope specific MAbs and belong to MAb cluster 1-4 according to ISOMB TD-4 classification. No crossreactivity with egg white avidin.

Application Info |
Suitable for use in Immunohistochemical and Immunofluorescent detection of neoplastic breast epithelium
(frozen sections). May be used development of highly effective ELISA tests for unglycosylated and underglycosylated tumorassociated MUC1 mucins in human serum. May also be used for the solid-phase capture of MUC1 isoforms. Each laboratory should determine an optimum working titer for use in its particular application.
Other applications have not been tested but use in such assays should not necessarily be excluded. |
Immunogen |
Recombinant (E.coli) VENTR20 (tandem repeat in MUC1 core) polypeptide. |
Warning |
This product contains sodium azide, which has been classified as Xn (Harmful), in European Directive 67/548/EEC in the concentration range of 0.1 - 1.0 %. When disposing of this reagent through lead or copper plumbing, flush with copious volumes of water to prevent azide build-up in drains. |
