• Description of Target: HEPES is a useful buffer for pH's ranging from 6.8-8.2. This makes HEPES ideal for cell culturing because of its usefulness in maintaining pH changes in presence of carbon dioxide production from cellular respiration. 1.0 M HEPES pH 7.2 is ideal for investigators in Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, and Immunology researchers.
• Reconstitution and Storage: Store container at room temperature (18-26°C) prior to opening. If desired, the solution may be stored at 4°C or less. Some salts may precipitate out of solution at lower temperature. Allow buffer to equilibrate to room temperature (18-26°C) to restore solubility of some salts. 1.0 M HEPES pH 7.2 is a concentrated stock solution and should be diluted appropriately with molecular biology grade water or equivalent to its final working concentration.
