ELISA Kit Principle | The test principle applied in this kit is Sandwich enzyme immunoassay. The microtiter plate provided in this kit has been pre-coated with an antibody specific to Vitamin D Receptor (VDR). Standards or samples are then added to the appropriate microtiter plate wells with a biotin-conjugated antibody specific to Vitamin D Receptor (VDR). Next, Avidin conjugated to Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to each microplate well and incubated. After TMB substrate solution is added, only those wells that contain Vitamin D Receptor (VDR), biotin-conjugated antibody and enzyme-conjugated Avidin will exhibit a change in color. The enzyme-substrate reaction is terminated by the addition of sulphuric acid solution and the color change is measured spectrophotometrically at a wavelength of 450nm +/- 10nm. The concentration of Vitamin D Receptor (VDR) in the samples is then determined by comparing the O.D. of the samples to the standard curve. | ||||||||||||||||||||||

ELISA Kit Reproducibility | Intra-assay Precision (Precision within an assay): 3 samples with low, middle and high level Vitamin D Receptor (VDR) were tested 20 times on one plate, respectively. Inter-assay Precision (Precision between assays): 3 samples with low, middle and high level Vitamin D Receptor (VDR) were tested on 3 different plates, 8 replicates in each plate. Alias Symbols | 1,25-dihydroxyvitamin D3 receptor;Nr;Nr1i1;nuclear receptor subfamily 1 group I member 1;vitamin D receptor;vitamin D3 receptor. |
NCBI Gene Id | 22337 |
Protein Name | Vitamin D3 receptor |
Description of Target | Nuclear receptor for calcitriol, the active form of vitamin D3 which mediates the action of this vitamin on cells. Enters the nucleus upon vitamin D3 binding where it forms heterodimers with the retinoid X receptor/RXR. The VDR-RXR heterodimers bind to specific response elements on DNA and activate the transcription of vitamin D3-responsive target genes. Recruited to promoters via its interaction with BAZ1B/WSTF which mediates the interaction with acetylated histones, an essential step for VDR-promoter association. Plays a central role in calcium homeostasis. |
