ELISA Kit Principle | Aviva Systems Biology SLC2A4 ELISA Kit (Dog) (OKEH08466) is based on standard sandwich enzyme-linked immuno-sorbent assay technology. An antibody specific for SLC2A4 has been pre-coated onto a 96-well plate (12 x 8 Well Strips) and blocked. Standards or test samples are added to the wells, incubated and removed. A biotinylated detector antibody specific for SLC2A4 is added, incubated and followed by washing. Avidin-Peroxidase Conjugate is then added, incubated and unbound conjugate is washed away. An enzymatic reaction is produced through the addition of TMB substrate which is catalyzed by HRP generating a blue color product that changes yellow after adding acidic stop solution. The density of yellow coloration read by absorbance at 450 nm is quantitatively proportional to the amount of sample SLC2A4 captured in well.

Additional Information | Function: Insulin-regulated facilitative glucose transporter, which plays a key role in removal of glucose from circulation. Response to insulin is regulated by its intracellular localization: in the absence of insulin, it is efficiently retained intracellularly within storage compartments in muscle and fat cells. Upon insulin stimulation, translocates from these compartments to the cell surface where it transports glucose from the extracellular milieu into the cell.
:: | Subcellular Location: Cell membrane Multi-pass membrane protein Endomembrane system Multi-pass membrane protein Cytoplasm Perinuclear region Localizes primarily to the perinuclear region, undergoing continued recycling to the plasma membrane where it is rapidly reinternalized (By similarity). The dileucine internalization motif is critical for intracellular sequestration (By similarity). Insulin stimulation induces translocation to the cell membrane (By similarity).
