Description of Target EDA is a type II membrane protein that can be cleaved by furin to produce a secreted form. This protein, which belongs to the tumor necrosis factor family, acts as a homotrimer and may be involved in cell-cell signaling during the development of ectodermal organs. Defects in the gene for EDA are a cause of ectodermal dysplasia, anhidrotic, which is also known as X-linked hypohidrotic ectodermal dysplasia.
Reconstitution and Storage Maintain refrigerated at 2-8C for up to 2 weeks. For long term storage store at -20C in small aliquots to prevent freeze-thaw cycles.

Hela
Western blot analysis of anti-EDA Antibody (N-term) (RB13883) in Hela cell lysates (35ug/lane). EDA(arrow) was detected using the purified Pab (1:60 dilution).

human hepatocarcinoma
Formalin-fixed and paraffin-embedded human hepatocarcinoma tissue reacted with EDA antibody (N-term), which was peroxidase-conjugated to the secondary antibody, followed by DAB staining. This data demonstrates the use of this antibody for immunohistochemistry; clinical relevance has not been evaluated.
