Additional Information | Function: Essential for necroptosis, a programmed cell death process in response to death-inducing TNF-alpha family members. Upon induction of necrosis, RIPK3 interacts with, and phosphorylates RIPK1 and MLKL to form a necrosis-inducing complex. RIPK3 binds to and enhances the activity of three metabolic enzymes: GLUL, GLUD1, and PYGL. These metabolic enzymes may eventually stimulate the tricarboxylic acid cycle and oxidative phosphorylation, which could result in enhanced ROS production. Cellular Location: Cytoplasm, cytosol. Cell membrane Mitochondrion Tissue Location: Highly expressed in the pancreas. Detected at lower levels in heart, placenta, lung and kidney. Isoform 3 is significantly increased in colon and lung cancers |
Reconstitution and Storage | Maintain refrigerated at 2-8°C for up to 2 weeks. For long term storage store at -20°C in small aliquots to prevent freeze-thaw cycles. |
Immunogen | This RIPK3 antibody is generated from rabbits immunized with a KLH conjugated synthetic peptide between 61-91 amino acids from the Central region of human RIPK3. |
Purification | This antibody is purified by Saturated Ammonium Sulfate (SAS) precipitation followed by dialysis against PBS. |
Concentration | 2 mg/ml |
Intended Use | For research use only and not for use in diagnostic or therapeutic procedures. |
Application Info | WB: 1:1,000 IHC-P: 1:10~50 Optimal dilutions should be determined by the end user. |

Gene Symbol | RIPK3 |
---|---|
Alias Symbols | RIP3 |
NCBI Gene Id | 11035 |
Protein Name | Receptor-interacting serine/threonine-protein kinase 3 |
Description of Target | The product of this gene is a member of the receptor-interacting protein (RIP) family of serine/threonine protein kinases, and contains a C-terminal domain unique from other RIP family members. The encoded protein is predominantly localized to the cytoplasm, and can undergo nucleocytoplasmic shuttling dependent on novel nuclear localization and export signals. It is a component of the tumor necrosis factor (TNF) receptor-I signaling complex, and can induce apoptosis and weakly activate the NF-kappaB transcription factor. |
