Predicted Species Reactivity | Mouse, Rat |
---|---|
Product Format | Liquid. 100 ul in 10 mM HEPES (pH 7.5), 150 mM NaCl, 100 ug per ml BSA and 50% glycerol. Adequate amount of material to conduct 10-mini Western Blots. |
Clonality | Polyclonal |
Host | Rabbit |
Application | WB, IHC |
Additional Information | Packaging : 100 ul in 10 mM HEPES (pH 7.5), 150 mM NaCl, 100 ug per ml BSA and 50% glycerol. Adequate amount of material to conduct 10-mini Western Blots. |
Reconstitution and Storage | For long term storage -20C is recommended. Stable at -20C for at least 1 year. |
Immunogen | Phosphopeptide corresponding to amino acid residues surrounding the phospho- Ser234 of rabphilin 3A. |
Purification | Prepared from rabbit serum by affinity purification via sequential chromatography on phospho- and dephosphopeptide affinity columns. |
Predicted Homology Based on Immunogen Sequence | Mouse; Rat |
Specificity | Specific for the ~82k rabphilin protein phosphorylated at Ser234. The immunolabeling of the rabphilin band was completely blocked by the phosphopeptide used as antigen while the dephosphopeptide had no effect on the immunolabeling |
Application Info | The antibody has been directly tested for reactivity in Western blots with rat tissue. It is anticipated that the antibody will react with mouse based on the fact that this species has 100% homology with the amino acid sequence used as antigen. Western blot of rat brain lysate showing specific immunolabeling of the ~82k rabphilin 3A phosphorylated at Ser234. |

Gene Symbol | RPH3A |
---|---|
NCBI Gene Id | 171039 |
Protein Name | Rabphilin-3A |
Description of Target | Rabphilin-3A is a peripheral membrane protein that binds Ca2+ and phospholipids and is attached to synaptic vesicle membranes (Geppert et al., 1994;Li et al., 1994). The expression of rabphilin 3A is reduced in an animal model of Huntington's disease(Smith et al., 2005). Rabphilin can be phosphorylated at Ser234 by both CAM kinase II and PKA and this phosphorylation has been suggested to regulate neuronal activity during development in a synapse-specific manner (Fykse et al., 1995;Foletti and Scheller, 2001). |
