:: | Product Introduction: Procalcitonin is a peptide hormone mainly produced by the C cells of the thyroid and certain endocrine cells of the lung. Under normal expression conditions, procalcitonin is immediately cleaved into three specific fragments, an N terminal residue, calcitonin and katacalcin. Levels of unprocessed procalcitonin rise significantly after bacterial infection, trauma or shock. Product Description: Procalcitonin Human Recombinant produced in E.Coli is a single, non-glycosylated, polypeptide chain containing 114 amino acids fragment (3-116) having a molecular mass of 17.13 kDa and an amino-terminal hexahistidine tag. The PCT is purified by standard chromatographic techniques. |
Reconstitution and Storage | Store at 4C if entire vial will be used within 2-4 weeks. Store, frozen at -20C for longer periods of time. Please prevent freeze-thaw cycles. |
Purity | Greater than 95.0% as determined by (a) Analysis by RP-HPLC. (b) Analysis by SDS-PAGE. |
