Datasheets/Manuals | Printable datasheet for anti-ODF2 (ARP53603_P050-FITC) antibody |
---|
Predicted Species Reactivity | Human, Mouse, Rat, Cow, Dog, Guinea Pig, Horse, Rabbit, Zebrafish |
---|---|
Product Format | Liquid. Purified antibody supplied in 1x PBS buffer. |
Clonality | Polyclonal |
Host | Rabbit |
Conjugation | FITC: Fluorescein Isothiocyanate |
Application | WB |
Reconstitution and Storage | All conjugated antibodies should be stored in light-protected vials or covered with a light protecting material (i.e. aluminum foil). Conjugated antibodies are stable for at least 12 months at 4C. If longer storage is desired (24 months), conjugates may be diluted with up to 50% glycerol and stored at -20C to -80C. Freezing and thawing conjugated antibodies will compromise enzyme activity as well as antibody binding. |
Immunogen | The immunogen is a synthetic peptide directed towards the N terminal region of human ODF2 |
Purification | Affinity Purified |
Predicted Homology Based on Immunogen Sequence | Cow: 100%; Dog: 100%; Guinea Pig: 100%; Horse: 100%; Human: 100%; Mouse: 100%; Rabbit: 100%; Rat: 100%; Zebrafish: 86% |
Peptide Sequence | Synthetic peptide located within the following region: TCTDINTLTRQKELLLQKLSTFEETNRTLRDLLREQHCKEDSERLMEQQG |

---|---|
Gene Full Name | Outer dense fiber of sperm tails 2 |
Alias Symbols | CT134, ODF84, ODF2/1, ODF2/2 |
NCBI Gene Id | 4957 |
Protein Name | Outer dense fiber protein 2 |
Description of Target | The outer dense fibers are cytoskeletal structures that surround the axoneme in the middle piece and principal piece of the sperm tail. The fibers function in maintaining the elastic structure and recoil of the sperm tail as well as in protecting the tail from shear forces during epididymal transport and ejaculation. Defects in the outer dense fibers lead to abnormal sperm morphology and infertility. ODF2 is one of the major outer dense fiber proteins. The outer dense fibers are cytoskeletal structures that surround the axoneme in the middle piece and principal piece of the sperm tail. The fibers function in maintaining the elastic structure and recoil of the sperm tail as well as in protecting the tail from shear forces during epididymal transport and ejaculation. Defects in the outer dense fibers lead to abnormal sperm morphology and infertility. This gene encodes one of the major outer dense fiber proteins. Multiple protein isoforms are encoded by transcript variants of this gene; however, not all isoforms and variants have been fully described. |
