---|---|
Product Format | Liquid. PBS containing 50% glycerol, 0.5% BSA and 0.02% sodium azide. |
Clonality | Polyclonal |
Isotype | IgG |
Host | Rabbit |
Application | WB, IHC, FC |
Additional Information | Function: Receptor tyrosine kinase involved in nervous system and probably heart development. Upon binding of its ligand NTF3/neurotrophin-3, NTRK3 autophosphorylates and activates different signaling pathways, including the phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase/AKT and the MAPK pathways, that control cell survival and differentiation. Cellular Localization: Membrane. Single-pass type I membrane protein. Tissue Specificity: Widely expressed but mainly in nervous tissue. Isoform 2 is expressed at higher levels in adult brain than in fetal brain. |
Reconstitution and Storage | Store at -20°C. Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles. |
Immunogen | Synthesized peptide derived between 460-540 aa from human Trk C around the phosphorylation site of Y516. |
Purification | The antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity-chromatography using epitope-specific immunogen. |
Concentration | 1 mg/ml |
Target Post-Translational Modification | Ligand-mediated auto-phosphorylation. |
Specificity | Phospho-Trk C (Tyr516) Polyclonal Antibody detects endogenous levels of Trk C protein only when phosphorylated at Y516. |
Application Info | WB: 1:500-1:2000 IHC: 1:100-1:300 ELISA: 1:10000 Optimal dilutions should be determined by the end user. |

Description of Target | Trk C is a protein encoded by the NTRK3 gene which is approximately 94,4 kDa. Trk C is localised to the cell membrane and is involved in apoptotic pathways in synovial fibroblasts, GPCR pathway, ERK signalling and apoptosis pathways. This protein falls under the neurotrophic tyrosine receptor kinase family. It is a membrane-bound receptor that, upon neurotrophin binding, phosphorylates itself and members of the MAPK pathway. Signalling through this kinase leads to cell differentiation and may play a role in the development of proprioceptive neurons that sense body position. Trk C is widely expressed but mainly in nervous tissue. Isoform 2 is expressed at higher levels in adult brain. Mutations in the NTRK3 gene are associated with susceptibility to congenital heart defects and differentiated thyroid carcinoma. STJ90960 was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity-chromatography using epitope-specific immunogen. This primary antibody specifically binds to endogenous Trk C protein which only binds about Y516 when Y516 is phosphorylated. |
