Product Info
Predicted Species ReactivityHuman, Mouse, Rat, Cow, Dog, Guinea Pig, Horse, Pig, Rabbit
Product FormatLiquid. Purified antibody supplied in 1x PBS buffer.
ClonalityPolyclonal
HostRabbit
ConjugationFITC: Fluorescein Isothiocyanate
ApplicationWB, IHC
Reconstitution and StorageAll conjugated antibodies should be stored in light-protected vials or covered with a light protecting material (i.e. aluminum foil). Conjugated antibodies are stable for at least 12 months at 4C. If longer storage is desired (24 months), conjugates may be diluted with up to 50% glycerol and stored at -20C to -80C. Freezing and thawing conjugated antibodies will compromise enzyme activity as well as antibody binding.
ImmunogenThe immunogen is a synthetic peptide directed towards the N terminal region of human MTRR
PurificationAffinity Purified
Predicted Homology Based on Immunogen SequenceCow: 93%; Dog: 100%; Guinea Pig: 93%; Horse: 93%; Human: 100%; Mouse: 100%; Pig: 100%; Rabbit: 100%; Rat: 100%
Peptide SequenceSynthetic peptide located within the following region: YDLKTETAPLVVVVSTTGTGDPPDTARKFVKEIQNQTLPVDFFAHLRYGL

Gene SymbolMTRR
Gene Full Name5-methyltetrahydrofolate-homocysteine methyltransferase reductase
Alias SymbolsMSR, cblE
NCBI Gene Id4552
Protein NameMethionine synthase reductase
Description of TargetMethionine is an essential amino acid required for protein synthesis and one-carbon metabolism. Its synthesis is catalyzed by the enzyme methionine synthase. Methionine synthase eventually becomes inactive due to the oxidation of its cob(I)alamin cofactor. The protein encoded by this gene regenerates a functional methionine synthase via reductive methylation. It is a member of the ferredoxin-NADP(+) reductase (FNR) family of electron transferases. Patients of the cbl-E complementation group of disorders of folate/cobalamin metabolism are defective in reductive activation of methionine synthase. Alternative splicing of this gene results in multiple transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms.
