---|---|
Product Format | Liquid. PBS with 0.09% (W/V) sodium azide. |
Clonality | Polyclonal |
Isotype | Ig |
Host | Rabbit |
Application | WB, IHC-P |
Additional Information | Function: Both isoforms function as amine oxidases toward elastin and different types of collagens. Isoform 1 shows the highest activity toward collagen type VIII, while Isoform 2 presents the highest activity toward collagen type IV. Cellular Location: Secreted, extracellular space. Tissue Location: Isoform 1 is predominantly detected in the heart, placenta, and small intestine, while isoform 2 is more highly detected in the kidney, pancreas, lung, spleen, and thymus. |
Reconstitution and Storage | Maintain refrigerated at 2-8C for up to 2 weeks. For long term storage store at -20C in small aliquots to prevent freeze-thaw cycles. |
Immunogen | This LOXL3 antibody is generated from rabbits immunized with a KLH conjugated synthetic peptide between 715-744 amino acids from the C-terminal region of human LOXL3. |
Purification | This antibody is purified through a protein A column, followed by peptide affinity purification. |
Predicted Homology Based on Immunogen Sequence | Human; Mouse |
Concentration | Approximately 0.5mg/ml. Actual concentration varies with each lot. |

Gene Symbol | LOXL3 |
---|---|
Alias Symbols | LOXL |
NCBI Gene Id | 84695 |
Protein Name | Lysyl oxidase homolog 3 |
Description of Target | This gene encodes a member of the lysyl oxidase gene family. The prototypic member of the family is essential to the biogenesis of connective tissue, encoding an extracellular copper-dependent amine oxidase that catalyses the first step in the formation of crosslinks in collagens and elastin. A highly conserved amino acid sequence at the C-terminus end appears to be sufficient for amine oxidase activity, suggesting that each family member may retain this function. The N-terminus is poorly conserved and may impart additional roles in developmental regulation, senescence, tumor suppression, cell growth control, and chemotaxis to each member of the family. Alternatively spliced transcript variants of this gene have been reported but their full-length nature has not been determined. |
