ELISA Kit Principle | Aviva Systems Biology’s IL-12p70 ELISA Kit (Mouse) is based on standard sandwich enzyme-linked immuno-sorbent assay technology. An antibody specific for IL-12p70 has been pre-coated onto a 96-well plate. Standards or test samples are added to the wells, incubated and washed. A Biotin conjugated detector antibody specific for IL-12p70 is added, incubated and followed by wash. Next it is incubated with horseradish peroxidase (HRP)-Streptavidin and followed by washing. An enzymatic reaction is produced through the addition of TMB substrate which is catalyzed by HRP generating a blue color product that changes yellow after adding acidic stop solution. The density of yellow coloration read by absorbance at 450 nm is quantitatively proportional to the amount of sample IL-12p70 captured in well. | ||||||||||||||||||

Description of Target | IL-12p70 is a heterodimeric cytokine, made up of IL-12 alpha (p35) and IL-12 beta (p40) subunits. It can act as a growth factor for activated T and NK cells, enhance the lytic activity of NK/lymphokine-activated killer cells, and stimulate the production of IFN-gamma by resting PBMC. Many function of IL-12p70 has been demonstrated, to regulate both innate (natural killer cells) and adaptive (cytotoxic T lymphocytes) immunities in cancer therapy; play a crucial role against infectious viruses; through induced NK cells during acute tissue inflammation to the promotion of downstream adaptive responses, including DC selection and T cell polarization. |
