ELISA Kit Principle | The test principle applied in this kit is Sandwich enzyme immunoassay. The microtiter plate provided in this kit has been pre-coated with an antibody specific to Heat Shock Protein Beta 6 (HSPb6). Standards or samples are then added to the appropriate microtiter plate wells with a biotin-conjugated antibody specific to Heat Shock Protein Beta 6 (HSPb6). Next, Avidin conjugated to Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to each microplate well and incubated. After TMB substrate solution is added, only those wells that contain Heat Shock Protein Beta 6 (HSPb6), biotin-conjugated antibody and enzyme-conjugated Avidin will exhibit a change in color. The enzyme-substrate reaction is terminated by the addition of sulphuric acid solution and the color change is measured spectrophotometrically at a wavelength of 450nm +/- 10nm. The concentration of Heat Shock Protein Beta 6 (HSPb6) in the samples is then determined by comparing the O.D. of the samples to the standard curve. | ||||||||||||||||||||||

ELISA Kit Reproducibility | Intra-assay Precision (Precision within an assay): 3 samples with low, middle and high level Heat Shock Protein Beta 6 (HSPb6) were tested 20 times on one plate, respectively. Inter-assay Precision (Precision between assays): 3 samples with low, middle and high level Heat Shock Protein Beta 6 (HSPb6) were tested on 3 different plates, 8 replicates in each plate. Alias Symbols | epididymis luminal protein 55;epididymis secretory sperm binding protein;heat shock 20 kDa-like protein p20;heat shock protein beta-6;heat shock protein family B (small) member B6;heat shock protein, alpha-crystallin-related, B6;HEL55;Hsp20;PPP1R91;protein phosphatase 1, regulatory subunit 91. |
NCBI Gene Id | 126393 |
Protein Name | Heat shock protein beta-6 |
Description of Target | Small heat shock protein which functions as a molecular chaperone probably maintaining denatured proteins in a folding-competent state. Seems to have versatile functions in various biological processes. Plays a role in regulating muscle function such as smooth muscle vasorelaxation and cardiac myocyte contractility. May regulate myocardial angiogenesis implicating KDR. Overexpression mediates cardioprotection and angiogenesis after induced damage. Stabilizes monomeric YWHAZ thereby supporting YWHAZ chaperone-like activity. |
