Datasheets/Manuals | Printable datasheet for HRK Antibody (OASA07355) |
---|
Predicted Species Reactivity | Human |
---|---|
Product Format | Liquid. Phosphate buffered saline |
Clonality | Polyclonal |
Isotype | IgG |
Host | Rabbit |
Application | Western blot |
Reconstitution and Storage | -20°C |
Immunogen | 15 amino acid peptide from near the centre of human HRK (NP_003797). |
Purification | Purified IgG prepared by affinity chromatography |
Concentration | 1 mg/ml |
Specificity | Rabbit anti HRK antibody detects Harakiri (HRK), also known as Neuronal death protein DP5 or BH3-interacting domain-containing protein 3. Aberrant methylation of HRK is frequently detected in primary colorectal cancers. Despite its predicted molecular weight of ~18 kDa, HRK often migrates at ~12-15 kDa. |
Preparation | Antisera to HRK were raised by repeated immunisations of rabbits with highly purified antigen. |
Application Info | Western Blot: 2 - 5 ug/ml. This product detects a band of approximately 13kDa in mouse pancreas tissue lysate. Optimal dilutions should be determined by the end user. |

Gene Symbol | HRK |
---|---|
Alias Symbols | DP5, HARAKIRI |
NCBI Gene Id | 8739 |
Protein Name | Activator of apoptosis harakiri |
Description of Target | HRK is a BH3 only protein of the Bcl-2 family, which promotes Bax dependent apoptosis. HRK regulates apoptosis through its interaction with the anti-apoptotic proteins Bcl-2 and Bcl-XL, and in conjunction to the mitochondrial pore forming protein p32. HRK is thought to have a specific role in initiating neuronal and haematopoietic cell apoptosis, in particular to growth factor deprivation. |
