Datasheets/Manuals | Printable datasheet for anti-HMOX1 (OAAB21840) antibody |
---|
Predicted Species Reactivity | Human, Mouse |
---|---|
Product Format | Liquid |
Clonality | Polyclonal |
Host | Rabbit |
Application | WB, IF, IHC-P |
Additional Information | Function: Heme oxygenase cleaves the heme ring at the alpha methene bridge to form biliverdin. Biliverdin is subsequently converted to bilirubin by biliverdin reductase. Under physiological conditions, the activity of heme oxygenase is highest in the spleen, where senescent erythrocytes are sequestrated and destroyed. Exhibits cytoprotective effects since excess of free heme sensitizes cells to undergo apoptosis. |
Reconstitution and Storage | Maintain refrigerated at 2-8C for up to 2 weeks. For long term storage store at -20C in small aliquots to prevent freeze-thaw cycles. |
Predicted Homology Based on Immunogen Sequence | Human, Mouse |
Preservative | 0.03% Proclin300 and 50% glycerol |
Formulation | 0.01M TBS (pH7.4) with 1% BSA, 0.03% Proclin300 and 50% Glycerol |
Application Info | WB: 1:100~1:500 IHC-P: 1:100~1:500 |
Gene Symbol | HMOX1 |
---|---|
Gene Full Name | heme oxygenase 1 |
Alias Symbols | HO-1, HSP32, HMOX1D, bK286B10 |
NCBI Gene Id | 3162 |
Description of Target | Heme oxygenase, an essential enzyme in heme catabolism, cleaves heme to form biliverdin, which is subsequently converted to bilirubin by biliverdin reductase, and carbon monoxide, a putative neurotransmitter. Heme oxygenase activity is induced by its substrate heme and by various nonheme substances. Heme oxygenase occurs as 2 isozymes, an inducible heme oxygenase-1 and a constitutive heme oxygenase-2. HMOX1 and HMOX2 belong to the heme oxygenase family. |
Uniprot ID | P09601 |
Protein Accession # | NP_002124.1 |
Nucleotide Accession # | NM_002133.2 |
