Product Info
Predicted Species ReactivityHuman
Product FormatLiquid PBS with 0.09% (W/V) sodium azide.
ClonalityPolyclonal
IsotypeRabbit Ig
HostRabbit
ApplicationWB, FC
::Function: Acts as a bone morphogenetic protein (BMP) coreceptor. Through enhancement of BMP signaling regulates hepcidin (HAMP) expression and regulates iron homeostasis.
Cellular Location: Cell membrane; Lipid-anchor, GPI-anchor. Note=Also released in the extracellular space.
Tissue Location: Adult and fetal liver, heart, and skeletal muscle.
Reconstitution and StorageMaintain refrigerated at 2-8C for up to 2 weeks. For long term storage store at -20C in small aliquots to prevent freeze-thaw cycles.
ImmunogenThis HFE2 antibody is generated from rabbits immunized with a KLH conjugated synthetic peptide between 308-338 amino acids from the C-terminal region of human HFE2.
PurificationThis antibody is purified through a protein A column, followed by peptide affinity purification.
Predicted Homology Based on Immunogen SequenceMouse, Rat
ConcentrationApproximately 0.5mg/ml. Actual concentration varies with each lot.
Application InfoWB: 1:1000
FC: 1:10~50
Other Applications Image 1 DataHFE2 Antibody (C-term) flow cytometric analysis of HepG2 cells (right histogram) compared to a negative control cell (left histogram).FITC-conjugated goat-anti-rabbit secondary antibodies were used for the analysis.
Gene SymbolHFE2
Alias SymbolsJH, HFE2, RGMC, HFE2A
NCBI Gene Id148738
Protein NameHemojuvelin
Description of TargetHFE2 is involved in iron metabolism. It may be a component of the signaling pathway which activates hepcidin or it may act as a modulator of hepcidin expression. It could also represent the cellular receptor for hepcidin. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been identified for this gene. Defects in this gene are the cause of hemochromatosis type 2A, also called juvenile hemochromatosis (JH). JH is an early-onset autosomal recessive disorder due to severe iron overload resulting in hypogonadotrophic hypogonadism, hepatic fibrosis or cirrhosis and cardiomyopathy, occurring typically before age of 30.
Uniprot IDQ6ZVN8
