Reconstitution and StorageAll conjugated antibodies should be stored in light-protected vials or covered with a light protecting material (i.e. aluminum foil). Conjugated antibodies are stable for at least 12 months at 4C. If longer storage is desired (24 months), conjugates may be diluted with up to 50% glycerol and stored at -20C to -80C. Freezing and thawing conjugated antibodies will compromise enzyme activity as well as antibody binding.
ImmunogenThe immunogen is a synthetic peptide directed towards the middle region of human GSTM3
PurificationAffinity Purified
Predicted Homology Based on Immunogen SequenceCow: 85%; Dog: 77%; Horse: 85%; Human: 100%; Mouse: 79%; Pig: 92%; Rabbit: 86%; Rat: 79%

Gene SymbolGSTM3
Gene Full NameGlutathione S-transferase mu 3 (brain)
Alias SymbolsGST5, GSTB, GTM3, GSTM3-3
NCBI Gene Id2947
Protein NameGlutathione S-transferase Mu 3
Description of TargetCytosolic and membrane-bound forms of glutathione S-transferase are encoded by two distinct supergene families. At present, eight distinct classes of the soluble cytoplasmic mammalian glutathione S-transferases have been identified: alpha, kappa, mu, omega, pi, sigma, theta and zeta. GSTM3 is a glutathione S-transferase that belongs to the mu class. The mu class of enzymes functions in the detoxification of electrophilic compounds, including carcinogens, therapeutic drugs, environmental toxins and products of oxidative stress, by conjugation with glutathione. The genes encoding the mu class of enzymes are organized in a gene cluster on chromosome 1p13.3 and are known to be highly polymorphic. These genetic variations can change an individual's susceptibility to carcinogens and toxins as well as affect the toxicity and efficacy of certain drugs. Mutations of this class mu gene have been linked with a slight increase in a number of cancers, likely due to exposure with environmental toxins.Cytosolic and membrane-bound forms of glutathione S-transferase are encoded by two distinct supergene families.
