Additional Information Function: Receptor for Wnt proteins. Most of frizzled receptors are coupled to the beta-catenin canonical signaling pathway, which leads to the activation of disheveled proteins, inhibition of GSK- 3 kinase, nuclear accumulation of beta-catenin and activation of Wnt target genes. A second signaling pathway involving PKC and calcium fluxes has been seen for some family members, but it is not yet clear if it represents a distinct pathway or if it can be integrated in the canonical pathway, as PKC seems to be required for Wnt-mediated inactivation of GSK-3 kinase. Both pathways seem to involve interactions with G-proteins. May be involved in transduction and intercellular transmission of polarity information during tissue morphogenesis and/or in differentiated tissues.
Cellular Location: Cell membrane; Multi-pass membrane protein.
Tissue Location: Expressed predominantly in adult and fetal brain, testis, eye, skeletal muscle and kidney. Moderately expressed in pancreas, thyroid, adrenal cortex, small intestine and stomach. Detected in fetal liver and kidney.
Reconstitution and Storage Maintain refrigerated at 2-8C for up to 2 weeks. For long term storage store at -20C in small aliquots to prevent freeze-thaw cycles.
Replacement Item This antibody may replace item sc-292864 from Santa Cruz Biotechnology.
Immunogen This FZD9 antibody is generated from rabbits immunized with a KLH conjugated synthetic peptide between 7-35 amino acids from the N-terminal region of human FZD9.
Purification This antibody is purified through a protein A column, followed by peptide affinity purification.
Predicted Homology Based on Immunogen Sequence Human; Mouse
Concentration Approximately 0.5mg/ml. Actual concentration varies with each lot.

Intended Use FZD9 Antibody (N-term) is for research use only and not for use in diagnostic or therapeutic procedures.
Application Info WB: 1:1000
Gene Symbol FZD9
Alias Symbols FZD9, FZD3, Frizzled-9, FzE6, CD_antigen=CD349, Flags: Precursor
NCBI Gene Id 8326
Protein Name Frizzled-9
Description of Target Members of the 'frizzled' gene family encode 7-transmembrane domain proteins that are receptors for Wnt signaling proteins. The FZD9 gene is located within the Williams syndrome common deletion region of chromosome 7, and heterozygous deletion of the FZD9 gene may contribute to the Williams syndrome phenotype. FZD9 is expressed predominantly in brain, testis, eye, skeletal muscle, and kidney.
Swissprot Id O00144
Protein Accession # NP_003499.1
Molecular Weight 64466 Da
