ELISA Kit Principle | Aviva Systems Biology FABP2 ELISA Kit (Mouse) (OKCA02401) is based on standard sandwich enzyme-linked immuno-sorbent assay technology. An antibody specific for FABP2 has been pre-coated onto a 96-well plate (12 x 8 Well Strips). Standards or test samples are added to the wells, incubated and removed. A biotinylated detector antibody specific for FABP2 is added, incubated and followed by washing. Avidin-Peroxidase Conjugate is then added, incubated and unbound conjugate is washed away. An enzymatic reaction is produced through the addition of TMB substrate which is catalyzed by HRP generating a blue color product that changes to yellow after adding acidic stop solution. The density of yellow coloration read by absorbance at 450 nm and is quantitatively proportional to the amount of sample or standard FABP2 captured in the well. | ||||||||||||||||||||||

Alias Symbols | FABPI, I-FABP, MGC133132, intestinal fatty acid binding protein 2, FABP2 |
NCBI Gene Id | 515768 |
Protein Name | Fatty acid-binding protein, intestinal |
Description of Target | FABP are thought to play a role in the intracellular transport of long-chain fatty acids and their acyl-CoA esters. FABP2 is probably involved in triglyceride-rich lipoprotein synthesis. Binds saturated long-chain fatty acids with a high affinity, but binds with a lower affinity to unsaturated long-chain fatty acids. FABP2 may also help maintain energy homeostasis by functioning as a lipid sensor. |
