ELISA Kit Principle | The test principle applied in this kit is Sandwich enzyme immunoassay. The microtiter plate provided in this kit has been pre-coated with an antibody specific to Fatty Acid Binding Protein 2, Intestinal (FABP2). Standards or samples are then added to the appropriate microtiter plate wells with a biotin-conjugated antibody specific to Fatty Acid Binding Protein 2, Intestinal (FABP2). Next, Avidin conjugated to Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to each microplate well and incubated. After TMB substrate solution is added, only those wells that contain Fatty Acid Binding Protein 2, Intestinal (FABP2), biotin-conjugated antibody and enzyme-conjugated Avidin will exhibit a change in color. The enzyme-substrate reaction is terminated by the addition of sulphuric acid solution and the color change is measured spectrophotometrically at a wavelength of 450nm +/- 10nm. The concentration of Fatty Acid Binding Protein 2, Intestinal (FABP2) in the samples is then determined by comparing the O.D. of the samples to the standard curve. | ||||||||||||||||||||||

ELISA Kit Reproducibility | Intra-assay Precision (Precision within an assay): 3 samples with low, middle and high level Fatty Acid Binding Protein 2, Intestinal (FABP2) were tested 20 times on one plate, respectively. Inter-assay Precision (Precision between assays): 3 samples with low, middle and high level Fatty Acid Binding Protein 2, Intestinal (FABP2) were tested on 3 different plates, 8 replicates in each plate. Gene Symbol | FABP2 |
---|---|
Gene Full Name | fatty acid binding protein 2 |
Alias Symbols | FABPI;fatty acid binding protein 2, intestinal;Fatty acid-binding protein 2;fatty acid-binding protein, intestinal;I-FABP;intestinal-type fatty acid-binding protein. |
NCBI Gene Id | 2169 |
Protein Name | Fatty acid-binding protein, intestinal |
Description of Target | FABP are thought to play a role in the intracellular transport of long-chain fatty acids and their acyl-CoA esters. FABP2 is probably involved in triglyceride-rich lipoprotein synthesis. Binds saturated long-chain fatty acids with a high affinity, but binds with a lower affinity to unsaturated long-chain fatty acids. FABP2 may also help maintain energy homeostasis by functioning as a lipid sensor. |
