Datasheets/Manuals | Printable datasheet for DnaK Recombinant Protein (E.Coli) (OPED00039) (OPED00039) |
---|
Predicted Species Reactivity | Escherichia coli |
---|---|
Product Format | Liquid. In 40mM TRIS, pH 7.5, containing 80mM sodium chloride, 0.8mM DTT, 0.08mM PMSF, and 20% glycerol. |
Host | E. Coli |
Application | ELISA, WB |
Additional Information | DnaK possesses an autophosphorylation activity and a weak 5-nucleotidase activity, cleaving the 5 phosphate groups from both ribose and deoxyribose nucleotides. The role of DnaK in ATP-dependent protein-protein interactions has been extended to normal E. Coli physiology, where, like eukaryotic Hsp70 homologs, it is thought to participate in the assembly/disassembly of protein complexes. |
Reconstitution and Storage | Store at -80C |
Purification | Purified by multi-step chromatography. |
Purity | >95% (SDS-PAGE; Western blot) |
Application Info | ATPase activity assay (positive). Western blot control. |

Protein Name | Chaperone protein DnaK |
Description of Target | Plays an essential role in the initiation of phage lambda DNA replication, where it acts in an ATP-dependent fashion with the DnaJ protein to release lambda O and P proteins from the preprimosomal complex. DnaK is also involved in chromosomal DNA replication, possibly through an analogous interaction with the DnaA protein. Also participates actively in the response to hyperosmotic shock. |
