Product Format | Liquid with sodium azide |
---|---|
Application | IHC-F, IHC-P, IHC, ICC, PLA |
Reconstitution and Storage | Avoid exposure to light and store at ambient temperature (22-25°C). |
Warning | Reagents contain sodium azide which is very toxic if ingested or inhaled. Avoid contact with skin, eyes, or clothing. Wear eye or face protection when handling. If skin or eye contact occurs, wash with copious amounts of water. If ingested or inhaled, contact a physician immediately. Sodium azide yields toxic hydrazoic acid under acidic conditions. Dilute azide- containing compounds in running water before discarding to avoid accumulation of potentially explosive deposits in lead or copper plumbing. |
Procedure | 1. Prepare samples and perform staining according to established procedures. 2. Following aqueous final step, remove excess liquid around the sample and add 1 drop (~50 uL) of product for an area of 22 x 22 mm. 3. Mount cover-slip and remove excess mounting medium. 4. Allow to air dry for 5 minutes prior to analysis. |
Description | This product is a water-soluble, 4',6-diamidino-2-phenylindole (DAPI) containing compound recommended for slides mounted after a staining procedure having an aqueous final step. When bound to DNA, DAPI fluoresces and is typically used as a nuclear/chromosomal counterstain. Since this product is water-soluble, the cover-slip may be removed by submerging the slide in a PBS solution until the cover-slip is loosened. This mounting medium also provides a semi-permanent seal for storage of slide preparations. |
Description of Target | DAPI Fluoromount-G is a water-soluble, 4',6-diamidino-2-phenylindole (DAPI) containing compound recommended for slides mounted after a staining procedure having an aqueous final step. When bound to DNA, DAPI fluoresces and is typically used as a nuclear/chromosomal counterstain. Since DAPI Fluoromount-G is water-soluble, the coverslip may be removed by submerging the slide in a PBS solution until the coverslip is loosened. This mounting medium also provides a semi-permanent seal for storage of slide preparations. |
