ELISA Kit Principle | The Aviva Systems Biology Ceruloplasmin (CP) ELISA Kit (Human) is an in vitro enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay for the quantitative measurement of Human Ceruloplasmin in Plasma or Serum. This assay employs an antibody specific for Human CP coated on a 96-well plate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and Ceruloplasmin present in a sample is bound to the wells by the immobilized antibody. The wells are washed and anti-CP antibodies conjugated with horseradish peroxidase (HRP) are added. The wells are again washed, a TMB substrate solution is added to the wells and color develops in proportion to the amount of CP bound. The Stop Solution changes the color from blue to yellow, and the intensity of the color is measured at 450 nm. The quantity of CP in the test sample can be interpolated from the standard curve constructed from the standards and corrected for sample dilution. | ||||||||||||||||||

Protein Name | Ceruloplasmin |
Description of Target | Ceruloplasmin is a blue, copper-binding (6-7 atoms per molecule) glycoprotein. It has ferroxidase activity oxidizing Fe2+ to Fe3+ without releasing radical oxygen species. It is involved in iron transport across the cell membrane. Provides Cu2+ ions for the ascorbate-mediated deaminase degradation of the heparan sulfate chains of GPC1. May also play a role in fetal lung development or pulmonary antioxidant defense (By similarity) |
