Formalin-fixed and paraffin-embedded human hepatocarcinoma with CEACAM Antibody (N-term), which was peroxidase-conjugated to the secondary antibody, followed by DAB staining. This data demonstrates the use of this antibody for immunohistochemistry; clinical relevance has not been evaluated.

Flow cytometric analysis of HepG2 cells using CEACAM Antibody (N-term)(bottom histogram) compared to a negative control cell (top histogram). FITC-conjugated goat-anti-rabbit secondary antibodies were used for the analysis.

• Description of Target: CEACAM is a member of the carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA) family, which belongs to the immunoglobulin superfamily. The protein was originally described in bile ducts of liver as biliary glycoprotein. Subsequently, it was found to be a cell-cell adhesion molecule detected on leukocytes, epithelia, and endothelia. The protein mediates cell adhesion via homophilic as well as heterophilic binding to other proteins of the subgroup.
