ELISA Kit Principle | The test principle applied in this kit is Sandwich enzyme immunoassay. The microtiter plate provided in this kit has been pre-coated with an antibody specific to Bone Morphogenetic Protein Receptor 2 (BMPR2). Standards or samples are then added to the appropriate microtiter plate wells with a biotin-conjugated antibody specific to Bone Morphogenetic Protein Receptor 2 (BMPR2). Next, Avidin conjugated to Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to each microplate well and incubated. After TMB substrate solution is added, only those wells that contain Bone Morphogenetic Protein Receptor 2 (BMPR2), biotin-conjugated antibody and enzyme-conjugated Avidin will exhibit a change in color. The enzyme-substrate reaction is terminated by the addition of sulphuric acid solution and the color change is measured spectrophotometrically at a wavelength of 450nm +/- 10nm. The concentration of Bone Morphogenetic Protein Receptor 2 (BMPR2) in the samples is then determined by comparing the O.D. of the samples to the standard curve. | ||||||||||||||||||||||

ELISA Kit Reproducibility | Intra-assay Precision (Precision within an assay): 3 samples with low, middle and high level Bone Morphogenetic Protein Receptor 2 (BMPR2) were tested 20 times on one plate, respectively. Inter-assay Precision (Precision between assays): 3 samples with low, middle and high level Bone Morphogenetic Protein Receptor 2 (BMPR2) were tested on 3 different plates, 8 replicates in each plate. Alias Symbols | BMP type II receptor;BMP type-2 receptor;BMPR3;BMPR-II;BMR2;bone morphogenetic protein receptor type II;bone morphogenetic protein receptor type-2;bone morphogenetic protein receptor, type II (serine/threonine kinase);BRK-3;POVD1;PPH1;T-ALK;type II activin receptor-like kinase;type II receptor for bone morphogenetic protein-4. |
NCBI Gene Id | 659 |
Protein Name | Bone morphogenetic protein receptor type-2 |
Description of Target | On ligand binding, forms a receptor complex consisting of two type II and two type I transmembrane serine/threonine kinases. Type II receptors phosphorylate and activate type I receptors which autophosphorylate, then bind and activate SMAD transcriptional regulators. Binds to BMP7, BMP2 and, less efficiently, BMP4. Binding is weak but enhanced by the presence of type I receptors for BMPs. Mediates induction of adipogenesis by GDF6. |
