Datasheets/Manuals | Printable datasheet for anti-BID (OAAB20935) antibody |
---|
Predicted Species Reactivity | Human, Mouse |
---|---|
Product Format | Liquid |
Clonality | Monoclonal |
Clone | 1519CT649.18.47 |
Isotype | IgG1, kappa |
Host | Mouse |
Application | WB |
Additional Information | Function: The major proteolytic product p15 BID allows the release of cytochrome c (By similarity). Isoform 1, isoform 2 and isoform 4 induce ICE-like proteases and apoptosis. Isoform 3 does not induce apoptosis. Counters the protective effect of Bcl-2. |
Reconstitution and Storage | Maintain refrigerated at 2-8C for up to 2 weeks. For long term storage store at -20C in small aliquots to prevent freeze-thaw cycles. |
Immunogen | This BID antibody is generated from a mouse immunized with a recombinant protein of human BID. |
Purification | Protein G column purification, followed by dialysis against PBS |
Predicted Homology Based on Immunogen Sequence | Human, Mouse |
Concentration | 500 ug/mL |
Preservative | 0.09% Sodium Azide |
Formulation | Purified monoclonal antibody, supplied in PBS with 0.09% sodium azide. |
Application Info | WB: 1:500~2000 IF: 1:25 IHC-P: 1:25 WB: 1:4000 |

Gene Symbol | BID |
---|---|
Gene Full Name | BH3 interacting domain death agonist |
Alias Symbols | FP497 |
NCBI Gene Id | 637 |
Description of Target | This gene encodes a death agonist that heterodimerizes with either agonist BAX or antagonist BCL2. The encoded protein is a member of the BCL-2 family of cell death regulators. It is a mediator of mitochondrial damage induced by caspase-8 (CASP8); CASP8 cleaves this encoded protein, and the COOH-terminal part translocates to mitochondria where it triggers cytochrome c release. Multiple alternatively spliced transcript variants have been found, but the full-length nature of some variants has not been defined. |
Uniprot ID | P55957 |
Protein Accession # | NP_001187.1 |
Nucleotide Accession # | NM_001196.3 |
Molecular Weight | 22 kDa |
