Predicted Species ReactivityHuman, Mouse
Product FormatLiquid
ClonalityMonoclonal
Clone1519CT649.18.47
IsotypeIgG1, kappa
HostMouse
ApplicationWB
Additional InformationFunction: The major proteolytic product p15 BID allows the release of cytochrome c (By similarity). Isoform 1, isoform 2 and isoform 4 induce ICE-like proteases and apoptosis. Isoform 3 does not induce apoptosis. Counters the protective effect of Bcl-2.
Reconstitution and StorageMaintain refrigerated at 2-8C for up to 2 weeks. For long term storage store at -20C in small aliquots to prevent freeze-thaw cycles.
ImmunogenThis BID antibody is generated from a mouse immunized with a recombinant protein of human BID.
PurificationProtein G column purification, followed by dialysis against PBS
Predicted Homology Based on Immunogen SequenceHuman, Mouse
Concentration500 ug/mL

Gene SymbolBID
Gene Full NameBH3 interacting domain death agonist
Alias SymbolsFP497
NCBI Gene Id637
Description of TargetThis gene encodes a death agonist that heterodimerizes with either agonist BAX or antagonist BCL2. The encoded protein is a member of the BCL-2 family of cell death regulators. It is a mediator of mitochondrial damage induced by caspase-8 (CASP8); CASP8 cleaves this encoded protein, and the COOH-terminal part translocates to mitochondria where it triggers cytochrome c release. Multiple alternatively spliced transcript variants have been found, but the full-length nature of some variants has not been defined.
Uniprot IDP55957
Protein Accession #NP_001187.1
Nucleotide Accession #NM_001196.3
Molecular Weight22 kDa
