Product Format | Liquid. PBS with 0.09% (W/V) sodium azide. |
Clonality | Polyclonal |
Isotype | Rabbit Ig |
Host | Rabbit |
Application | WB, IHC-P, FC |
Additional Information | Function: The branched-chain alpha-keto dehydrogenase complex catalyzes the overall conversion of alpha-keto acids to acyl-CoA and CO(2). It contains multiple copies of three enzymatic components: branched-chain alpha-keto acid decarboxylase (E1), lipoamide acyltransferase (E2) and lipoamide dehydrogenase (E3). Cellular Location: Mitochondrion matrix. |
Reconstitution and Storage | Maintain refrigerated at 2-8C for up to 2 weeks. For long term storage store at -20C in small aliquots to prevent freeze-thaw cycles. |
Immunogen | This BCKDHA antibody is generated from rabbits immunized with a KLH conjugated synthetic peptide between 362-390 amino acids from the C-terminal region of human BCKDHA. |
Purification | This antibody is prepared by Saturated Ammonium Sulfate (SAS) precipitation followed by dialysis against PBS. |
Predicted Homology Based on Immunogen Sequence | Human |
Concentration | Approximately 0.5mg/ml. Actual concentration varies with each lot. |

Alias Symbols | MSU, MSUD1, OVD1A, BCKDE1A |
NCBI Gene Id | 593 |
Protein Name | 2-oxoisovalerate dehydrogenase subunit alpha, mitochondrial |
Description of Target | The branched-chain alpha-keto acid (BCAA) dehydrogenase(BCKD) complex is an innter mitochondrial enzyme complex that catalyzes the second major step in the catabolism of the branched-chain amino acids leucine, isoleucine, and valine. The BCKD complex consists of three catalytic components: a heterotetrameric (alpha2-beta2) branched-chain alpha-keto acid decarboxylase (E1), a dihydrolipoyl transacylase (E2), and a dihydrolipoamide dehydrogenase (E3). BCKDHA is the alpha subunit of the decarboxylase (E1) component. |
