Blocking PeptideFor anti-ATG5 (ARP54267_P050) antibody is Catalog # AAP54267 (Previous Catalog # AAPP31016)
Gene SymbolATG5
Gene Full NameATG5 autophagy related 5 homolog (S. cerevisiae)
Alias SymbolsASP, APG5, APG5L, hAPG5, SCAR25, APG5-LIKE
NCBI Gene Id9474
Protein NameAutophagy protein 5
Description of TargetATG5 is required for autophagy. It conjugates to ATG12 and associates with isolation membrane to form cup-shaped isolation membrane and autophagosome. The conjugate detaches from the membrane immediately before or after autophagosome formation is completed. ATG5 may play an important role in the apoptotic process, possibly within the modified cytoskeleton. Its expression is a relatively late event in the apoptotic process, occurring downstream of caspase activity.
