Product Info
Predicted Species ReactivityRat, Most mammals, Some invertebrates
Product FormatLiquid10 mM HEPES (pH 7.5), 150 mM NaCl, 100 ug/ml BSA and 50% glycerol. Adequate amount of material to conduct 10 mini Western blots.
ClonalityPolyclonal
HostSheep
ApplicationDB, IF, IHC, WB
Reconstitution and StorageFor long-term storage, -80C is recommended, but shorter-term storage at -20C is also acceptable as aliquots may be taken without freezing/thawing due to the presence of 50% glycerol. Stock solutions are stable for a minimum of one (1) year at -20C.
PurificationAffinity purified
Predicted Homology Based on Immunogen SequenceMost mammals, Some invertebrates
Concentration0.15 mg/ml
SpecificitySpecific for the ~60k tyrosine hydroxylase protein in Western blots of rat brain lysates and PC-12 cells stimulated by Okadaic acid. The antibody cross-reacts with all mammalian and at least some non-mammalian forms of the enzyme in WB and IF/IHC.
Application InfoDB: 1:1000
IF: 1:1000
IHC: 1:1000

Protein NameTyrosine 3-monooxygenase
Description of TargetTyrosine hydroxylase (TH) is the rate-limiting enzyme in the synthesis of the catecholamines dopamine and norepinephrine. TH antibodies can therefore be used as markers for dopaminergic and noradrenergic neurons in a variety of applications including depression, schizophrenia, Parkinson's disease and drug abuse (Kish et al., 2001; Zhu et al., 2000; Zhu et al., 1999). TH antibodies can also be used to explore basic mechanisms of dopamine and norepinephrine signaling (Witkovsky et al., 2000; Salvatore et al., 2001).
