Name Insulin Protein (OPPA01642)
NCBI Gene Id 3630
Host Saccharomyces Cerevisiae
Purity Greater than 98.0% as determined by (a) Analysis by RP-HPLC. (b) Analysis by SDS-PAGE.
Alias Symbols IDDM, ILPR, IRDN, IDDM1, IDDM2, PNDM4, MODY10
Product Format The protein was lyophilized from 50mM Sodium Chloride solution. Physical appearance: Sterile Filtered White lyophilized (freeze-dried) powder.
Description of Target Insulin decreases blood glucose concentration. It increases cell permeability to monosaccharides, amino acids and fatty acids. It accelerates glycolysis, the pentose phosphate cycle, and glycogen synthesis in liver.
Reconstitution and Storage Lyophilized Insulin should be stored at 4C. Upon reconstitution Insulin should be stored at -20C to -80C. For long term storage it is recommended to add a carrier protein (0. 1% HSA or BSA). Please prevent freeze-thaw cycles.
It is recommended to reconstitute the lyophilized Insulin in PBS pH-7.5.
