IDDM, ILPR, IRDN, IDDM1, IDDM2, PNDM4, MODY10 |
Product Format |
The protein was lyophilized from 50mM Sodium Chloride solution. Physical appearance: Sterile Filtered White lyophilized (freeze-dried) powder. |
Description of Target |
Insulin decreases blood glucose concentration. It increases cell permeability to monosaccharides, amino acids and fatty acids. It accelerates glycolysis, the pentose phosphate cycle, and glycogen synthesis in liver. |
Reconstitution and Storage |
Lyophilized Insulin should be stored at 4C. Upon reconstitution Insulin should be stored at -20C to -80C. For long term storage it is recommended to add a carrier protein (0. 1% HSA or BSA). Please prevent freeze-thaw cycles. It is recommended to reconstitute the lyophilized Insulin in PBS pH-7.5. |

Biological Activity |
27 units/mg. Insulin has been evaluated in cell culture (Human Foreskin Fibroblasts). The effective concentration range for use in defined media is 1-5ug/ml. However, the optimum concentration range for a particular application must be determined by the investigator. |
