ELISA Kit Principle | Aviva Systems Biology IL16 ELISA Kit (Monkey) (OKCA01611) is based on standard sandwich enzyme-linked immuno-sorbent assay technology. An antibody specific for IL16 has been pre-coated onto a 96-well plate (12 x 8 Well Strips). Standards or test samples are added to the wells, incubated and removed. A biotinylated detector antibody specific for IL16 is added, incubated and followed by washing. Avidin-Peroxidase Conjugate is then added, incubated and unbound conjugate is washed away. An enzymatic reaction is produced through the addition of TMB substrate which is catalyzed by HRP generating a blue color product that changes to yellow after adding acidic stop solution. The density of yellow coloration read by absorbance at 450 nm and is quantitatively proportional to the amount of sample IL16 captured in the well. | ||||||||||||||||||||||

Gene Full Name | Pro-interleukin-16 |
Alias Symbols | IL-16 |
NCBI Gene Id | 574100 |
Protein Name | Pro-interleukin-16 |
Description of Target | Interleukin-16 stimulates a migratory response in CD4+ lymphocytes, monocytes, and eosinophils. Primes CD4+ T-cells for IL-2 and IL-15 responsiveness. Also induces T-lymphocyte expression of interleukin 2 receptor. Ligand for CD4.Pro-interleukin-16 is involved in cell cycle progression in T-cells. Appears to be involved in transcriptional regulation of SKP2 and is probably part of a transcriptional repression complex on the core promoter of the SKP2 gene. May act as a scaffold for GABPB1 (the DNA-binding subunit the GABP transcription factor complex) and HDAC3 thus maintaining transcriptional repression and blocking cell cycle progression in resting T-cells. |
