Description:
AGPAT2 is a member of the 1-acylglycerol-3-phosphate O-acyltransferase family. The protein is located within the endoplasmic reticulum membrane and converts lysophosphatidic acid to phosphatidic acid, the second step in de novo phospholipid biosynthesis. Mutations in its gene have been associated with congenital generalized lipodystrophy (CGL), or Berardinelli-Seip syndrome, a disease characterized by a near absence of adipose tissue and severe insulin resistance. This gene encodes a member of the 1-acylglycerol-3-phosphate O-acyltransferase family. Alternate transcriptional splice variants, encoding different isoforms, have been characterized.

Antigen Specificity:
Polyclonal antibody produced in rabbits immunized with a synthetic peptide corresponding to a region of Human AGPAT2 with an internal ID of P12109
|
Reconstitution and Storage:
Antibody is lyophilized from PBS buffer with 2% sucrose. Add 100 μl of distilled water. Final antibody concentration is 1 mg/ml. For longer periods of storage, store at -20°C. Avoid repeat freeze-thaw cycles.

| Suggested starting concentrations are provided.
Optimal dilutions should be determined by end-user. Differences in calculated versus apparent
molecular weight may be due to post-translational modifications or protein hydrophobicity. For
research use only not for diagnostic, human, or veterinary use. |
|
Western Blot
Suggested dilution at 5.0µg/ml in 5% skim milk / PBS buffer, and HRP conjugated anti-Rabbit IgG should be diluted in 1: 50,000 - 100,000 as second antibody.
