Calcium-dependent membrane-binding proteins may regulate molecular events at the interface of the cell membrane and cytoplasm. CPNE1 is a calcium-dependent protein that also contains two N-terminal type II C2 domains and an integrin A domain-like sequence in the C-terminus. However, the protein does not contain a predicted signal sequence or transmembrane domains. This gene and the gene for RNA binding motif protein 12 overlap at map location 20q11.21. Sequence analysis identified multiple alternatively spliced variants in the 5' UTR. All variants encode the same protein.

Antigen Specificity:  Polyclonal antibody produced in rabbits immunized with a synthetic peptide corresponding to a region of Human CPNE1 with an internal ID of P22709  Reconstitution and Storage:  Antibody is lyophilized from PBS buffer with 2% sucrose. Add 100 µl of distilled water. Final antibody concentration is 1 mg/ml. For longer periods of storage, store at -20°C. Avoid repeat freeze-thaw cycles.  Key Reference:  Tomsig,J.L., Biochem.
