ImmunogenThe immunogen for anti-BCL2 antibody: anti-human BCL2 mAb, is derived from hybridization of mouse FO myeloma cells with spleen cells from BALB/c mice immunized with recombinant human BCL2 amino acids 1-211 purified from E. coli.
PurificationBCL2 antibody was purified from mouse ascitic fluids by protein-G affinity chromatography.
Concentration1 mg/ml
Application InfoBCL2 antibody has been tested by ELISA, Western blot, and Immunofluorescence analyses to assure specificity and reactivity. Since applications vary, however, each investigation should be titrated by a reagent to obtain optimal results. Recommended dilution range for Western blot analysis and Immunofluorescence is 1:250 ~ 500. Recommended starting dilution is 1:500.
Gene SymbolBCL2
Alias SymbolsBcl-2, PPP1R50
NCBI Gene Id596
Protein NameApoptosis regulator Bcl-2
Description of TargetBCL2 gene encodes an integral outer mitochondrial membrane protein that blocks the apoptotic death of some cells such as lymphocytes. Constitutive expression of BCL2, such as in the case of translocation of BCL2 to Ig heavy chain locus, is thought to be the cause of follicular lymphoma. Two transcript variants, produced by alternate splicing, differ in their C-terminal ends.
Uniprot IDP10415
Protein Accession #NP_000624.2
